medcom.id, Jakarta: The state-owned electricity company PLN on Friday signed renewable enegy power purchase agreements (PPAs) with eleven independent power producers (IPPs)
The signing ceremony was held at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry headquarters. It was witnessed by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Ignatius Jonan.
"The government will support the renewable energy development in this country," Jonan said.
The government is ready to build more renewable energy power plants, including geothermal, photovoltaic, wind, biogas and biomass power plants, in a number of regions. It is prepared to increase the country's energy mix to 23 percent by 2025.
"The Renewable energy era will occur in the future. We should start from now," Jonan said.
