medcom.id, Jakarta: Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded that the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate (JISDOR) reached Rp13,328 per dollar on Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
JISDOR appreciated 53 points today. The benchmark rupiah rate reached Rp13,381 per dollar in the previous day.
Samuel Sekuritas analyst Rangga Cipta explained that the weak dollar boosted the rupiah today.
"Uncertainty is quite high," he stated.
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) increased 27.85 points or 0.53 percent to 5,294.78 points this afternoon.
The transaction volume reached about 14.9 billion shares worth around Rp6.1 trillion.
Moreover, 184 stocks increased, 116 stocks decreased and 118 stocks were stagnant.
