medcom.id, Jakarta: President Director of PT Freeport Indonesa Maroef Sjamsoeddin resigned from his position. The report has been confirmed by the mining company.
"Yes he resigned," said PT Freeport Indonesia spokesperson Riza Pratama, Monday (1/18/2016).
Riza did not explain the reason behind the resignation. Maroef resigned amid contract extension negotiation with Indonesian Government. The company recently offered 10.6 percent shares worth USD1.7 billion to government.
PT Freepot Indonesia did not give detail information. Riza said there will be official announcement about the resignation. "Let's wait" Riza mentioned.
