medcom.id, Jakarta: Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said is optimistic Batang power plant project could start construction soon after Supreme Court rejected cassation from local residents.
"Supreme Court has rejected it. I think in one or two months we could have financial closure and start construction in location," he mentioned during press conference, Jakarta, Thursday (3/3/2016).
State Electricity Company's director of procurement Iwan Supangat stated his company will accelerate the construction of the 2x1000 Mw power plant. "We are optimistic it could be finished in 2019," he added.
Iwan revealed the project's financial closure will be on April 6.
The project has been long delayed due to land acquisition issue. The government then decided to acquire the land through court.
