medcom.id, Jakarta: PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) recorded a net profit of Rp14.46 trillion in 2015, or lower 25 percent compared to in 2014.
"We are still being cautious over the future business prospect, however, supported by ability to produce good liquidity and strong trade balance, Astra International continues to invest for its future and prepared to take advantage of the opportunities," mentioned President Director of Astra International, Prijono Sugiarto, in a press release on Thursday (2/25/2016).
Not only that, the net income of Astra Group also declined by nine percent to Rp184.2 trillion. In 2014, the income position was recorded at Rp201.70 trillion. It mostly caused by decrease in the automotive, heavy equipment and mining segments, as well as the agribusiness.
"Throughout 2015, the company experienced faliing commodity prices and declining domestic consumption, as well as tightening competition in the car sales sector," mentioned Prijono.
