medcom.id, Jakarta: Industrial estate development in Indonesia still hampered by many challenges according to Indonesia Industrial Estates Association (HKI).
"It is difficult to build industrial estate. First, we should study the location. How close is the location with the main roads, ports and other infrastructures," mentioned Executive Director of HKI Fahmi Shahab, Jakarta, Friday (5/6/2016).
Fahmi explained financial issue is the main obstacle faced by businessmen in the sector. Different with other countries, most industrial estates in Indonesia are purely developed by private sector.
"Lots of businessmen stop their project in the middle of construction," he continued.
Fahmi urged the government to issue policies to help the private sector. He stated the government could prepare land for industrial estate development.
"It will continue to be difficult unless the government facilitates land bank," he concluded.
