medcom.id, Jakarta: State energy company PT Pertamina says that it plans to enter upstream sector in Myanmar.
"Myanmar doesn't have many refineries. However, it has potential," said Pertamina president director Dwi Soetjipto said in Maumere, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara on Monday (8/29/2016).
Pertamina recently acquired French energy company Maurel & Prom which has upstream business in Myanmar.
"We have acquired Maurel & Prom. We will enter upstream sector in Myanmar," Dwi added.
Pertamina will take part in a joint venture in the country. The company is currently conducting asset valuation.
