Game yang dipublikasikan oleh Bandai Namco dan dikembangkan oleh FromSoftware yang dikenal dengan tingkat kesulitannya yang ekstrem ini berhasil mendapatkan penghargaan tertinggi di ajang Golden Joystick Awards 2016.
Selain Dark Souls 3, Overwatch dan Pokemon Go juga ikut mendapatkan penghargaan di Golden Joystick Awards 2016.
Overwatch yang merupakan game shooter terbaru besutan Blizzard berhasil mendapatkan lebih dari satu penghargaan, mulai dari Best Original Game, Best Multiplayer Game, Competitive Game of the Year, Best Gaming Moment, dan PC Game of the Year.
Sementara Pokemon Go berhasil meraih penghargaan untuk kategori Innovation of The Year dan Handheld/Mobile Game of The Year.
