Jakarta: Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi has revealed that the government may evacuate Indonesian nationals who work at the quarantined Diamond Princes cruise ship.
"The option has been discussed since the beginning. We are coordinating with Japanese authorities and the operator of the cruise ship," Retno said here on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
The minister confirmed that three out of 78 Indonesian crew members tested positive for novel coronavirus (Covid-19). She explained that the three Indonesians were immediately treated by Japanese health officers.

"The Indonesian embassy officials arrived in Chiba this morning. They are instructed to ensure that the three Indonesians are treated well by Japanese authorities," Retno said.
The cruise ship brought as many as 3,711 people, consisting of 2,666 passengers and 1,045 crew members. More than 400 people from the cruise ship have tested positive for the virus.
"Based on my discussion with Japanese Ambassador, three out of 78 Indonesian crew members tested positive for coronavirus," Retno said.
