Jakarta: The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Chile, Muhammad Anshor, presented His credentials to President Sebastian Piñera on August 13.
"Indonesian Ambassador was among other new foreign Ambassadors to submit the credentials, including New Zealand, the Philippines, Mexico, Colombia, and Costa Rica," the Foreign Ministry said in a press statement released on Friday.
The credentials ceremony was followed by a bilateral discussion between Ambassador Anshor and President Piñera on issues related to bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and Chile and the enhancement of friendship between the two countries.?
In June 2019, the governments of Indonesia and Chile exchanged the Instruments of Ratification of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Indonesia and Chile.
The event was attended by the Minister of Commerce of Indonesia, Enggartiasto Lukita, and the Deputy Minister of Commerce of Chile, Rodrigo Yanez Benítez.
According to the agreement, IC-strain entered into force on August 10. Through IC-strain, 89.6 % of Chile's tariffs are eliminated for Indonesian products entering the Chilean market.
In the meantime. 86,1 % of Indonesia's tariffs are eliminated for products imported from Chile. The main products of Indonesia that receive preferences include palm oil and its derivatives, paper and pulp, food and drinks, automotive products, footwear, furniture, jewelry, textile products and others.?
