30 Indonesian Citizens in 15 US States Test Positive for Coronavirus

Jakarta: As many as 30 Indonesian citizens tested positive for covid-19 in 15 US states that are in the work area of the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) based in New York.
 
As of Monday, April 20, 2020, eight of the 30 Indonesians died, one recovered, while three were hospitalized and 18 others underwent self-quarantine, the Indonesian Consulate General in New York noted in a statement on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
 
According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ official website, the KJRI New York covers the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, North Carolina, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Philadelphia, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia.

The Consulate General has appealed to Indonesians to continue to pay attention and abide by the rules of local authorities, avoid crowds, and maintain physical distancing.
 
The Indonesian citizens were also urged to maintain a healthy lifestyle in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic that has snowballed into a global crisis.

As of April 20, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had recorded 765,613 cases of covid-19 in the United States, with the number of dead reached 40,620.
 
Meanwhile, the number of cases in the 15 states had reached 465,312, while the number of fatalities was recorded at 28,023.
 
The State of New York is the region, with the highest number of cases in the US, totaling 247,215, and the number of deaths reaching 18,298.
 
A total of 129,788 cases were recorded in New York City, with 8,811 deaths, while the number of unconfirmed cases touched 4,429. (antara)
