Situation in Middle East Monitored Ahead of Jokowi's Visit to UAE

Jakarta: The Indonesian government continues to observe the situation in the Middle East due to heated relations between the United States and Iran. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo will visit the United Arab Emirates in the near future.
 
"Certainly the security and safety of the President is number one priority. We will observe everything," said Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta on Thursday, January 9, 2020.
 
Retno revealed that Jokowi will visit Abu Dhabi to discuss investment cooperation. Sheadded that a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed.

"It cannot be conveyed, because it is still being discussed. Later, if everything is finished, by the time the President is there, the figure will be revealed eventually," she said.
 
Jokowi was also invited to be a keynote speaker at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. The Head of State will talk about energy issues, sustainable development, and sustainable energy.
 
Jokowi will visit Abu Dhabi on Monday, January 13, 2020. Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Luhut Panjaitan said Jokowi will discuss an investment project worth USD 20 billion
