RI, Qatar Discuss Planned Joint Commission Meeting

Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi received a farewell call from Qatari Ambassador to Indonesia Ahmed Bin Jassim Al-Hamar at her office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 12, 2019.
 
The two officials discussed preparations for the planned Indonesia-Qatar joint commission meeting. The Indonesian minister believes the planned joint commission meeting can help strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
 
"Ambassador Al-Hamar conveyed his deepest condolences on the passing of the third President of Indonesia, Bapak BJ Habibie," Minister Retno said on her official twitter account this afternoon.

Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, along with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah, co-chaired the 1st Indonesia-Kuwait Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) in Kuwait City on Monday, September 2, 2019.
 
Indonesia and Kuwait agreed to focus on strengthening trade, investment and manpower cooperation. The two governments also agreed to work closely on the issue of Palestine, counterterrorism and promotion of toleance.
 
The two ministers also witnessed the signings of several memorandums of understanding (MoUs). They are MoU on Visa Exemption for Diplomatic and Service Passport, MoU on Diplomatic Capacity Building, MoU on Research and Higher Education Cooperation as well as MoU on Oil and Gas Cooperation.
