Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi held a meeting with WHO director general Tedros Ghebreyesus on the sidelines of the 43rd session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on Monday, February 24, 2020.
She discussed developments of the ongoing COVID 19 outbreak. She also reiterated the importance of coordination between governments and WHO in addressing the outbreak.
In addition, she also welcomed the WHO Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan. As the Chair of the Foreign Policy and Global Health (FPGH), she extended an invitation for the WHO leader to attend this year's FPGH Ministerial Retreat.

"Indonesia welcomes the WHO Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan and is ready to work together to address COVID-19," the minister said on his official twitter account on Monday, February 24, 2020.
"As Chair of Foreign Policy and Global Health, I also extended an invitation for DG Tedros to attend the FPGH Ministerial Retreat in Bali, July 2020," the minister said.
It is the first official meeting attended by Indonesia as a member of the Human Rights Council for the 2020-2022 period. The Indonesian minister will deliver a national statement at the High-Level Segment of the HRC.
