Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo arrived in Singapore this afternoon to attend the Annual Leaders Meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
The meeting will discuss a wide range of bilateral issues. The forum will also evaluate a number of bilateral cooperation, including the development of Kendal Industrial Park and Nongsa Digital Park.
Kendal Industrial Park is the largest industrial park in Central Java province. It is a symbol of strong bilateral relations between the two countries.
In the meantime, Nongsa Digital Park is located in Batam, Riau Islans. Inaugurated last year, it is expected to attract digital entrepreneurs from the two countries.
"We only have one option. We need to maintain mutually-beneficial relations between the governments and the people of the two countries," Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said.
President Jokowi and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase in Jakarta at 12.20 Western Indonesia Time (WIB). They arrived at Changi International Airport in Singapore at 14.50 local time.
President Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) head Thomas Trikasih Lembong.
