Indonesia, Singapore Discuss Plans to Establish Travel Corridor

Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi held a meeting with Singaporean Foreign Affair Minister Vivian Balakhrisnan in Singapore on Tuesday.
 
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the preparations of Leaders' Retreat and plans to establish essential business travel corridor arrangement
 
"Indonesia has established travel corridor arrangement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Korea and China," the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

Besides holding a meeting with her Singaporean counterpart, Minister Retno also paid a courtesy call on Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana.
 
Last week, Minister Retno and Indonesian State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir visited China and the UAE in a bid to enhance cooperation in dealing with covid-19 pandemic.
 
In China, the two ministers held a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. In addition, they also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Indonesia's PT Bio Farma and China's Sinovac Biotech.
 
In the UAE, the two ministers met with UAE Foreign Affairs Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Al Mazrouei. After the bilateral meeting, they witnessed the signing of a memorandum of undertanding between Indonesia's PT Indo Farma and UAE's G-42.
