Metrotvnewscom, Nusa Dua: No less than 83 countries and three international organizations are scheduled to attend the eighth Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) in Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (12/10/2015).
The forum that will be held in from 10 to 11 December is themed 'Democracy and Effective Public governance'.
"It will be opened by Vice President Jusuf Kalla at 10 AM," said Foreign Ministry's Director Generaal of Information and Public Diplomacy Esti Andayani in a press briefing in Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday (12/9/2015).
The forum will be attended by 16 ministers and 3 deputy ministers. The number could still increase before the opening of the forum.
After opening from Vice President, the forum will be continued with debate and panel discussion sessions. In the first day, the panel discussion will be led by former Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajuda while the second day will be led by former Foreign Deputy Minister Dino Patti Djalal.
BDF reflects values like home grown democracy, pluralism and inclusiveness. According to Esti, BDF could contribute in the effort to create world peace.
Considering there is still many Asia Pacific countries that don't implement democratic system, Esti said it is one of the objective why Foreign Ministry holds BDF.
