Semarang: Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and his deputy Taj Yasin Maimoen received covid-19 vaccine at Tugurejeo Hospital, Semarang, Central Java on Thursday morning.
"I am fine. It did not hurt. It was like an ant bite," said the Central Java Governor.
Besides Ganjar and Taj, Central Java Regional Police chief, Regional Military Command IV/Diponegoro commander, and Central Java Regional Legislative Council deputy speaker also got the covid-19 jab.
"It is not different with a regular vaccine," Taj Yasin stated.
For the record, the covid-19 vaccinations will be carried out for around 182 million Indonesians to obtain herd immunity and will be carried out in stages with the first priority being health workers as the frontline in handling the pandemic.
On Wednesday morning, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) became the first person who officially received covid-19 vaccine in Indonesia.
Early this week, the Sinovac covid-19 vaccine obtained the emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and halal fatwa from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI).
