Surabaya: 7.4 million East Java residents have received at least one dose of covid-19 vaccine, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa has revealed.
According to Khofifah, the number is still the highest in Indonesia.
“Alhamdulillah East Java is still the highest (in Indonesia),” Khofifah explained in Surabaya on Friday.
According to the Governor, almost 3 million people in East Java have been fully vaccinated against covid-19.
To achieve herd immunity, she said, the East Java provincial government plans to vaccinate around 31.8 million residents.
Khofifah added that vaccination and health protocols are key to combat covid-19.
Moreover, Khofifah also claimed that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) at hopsitals in East Java is currently plateauing.
On July 28, she revealed isolation room BOR reached 75 percent and ICU room BOR stood at 82 percent. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
