Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned the former Regent of Indramayu, West Java, Irianto MS Syafiuddin alias Yance. Yance will be examined as a witness in an alleged bribery case related to projects in the Indramayu Regency Government.
"The one in question was examined as a witness for the suspect SP (Regent of Indramayu Supendi)," said Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri when confirmed on Friday, January 24, 2020.
Yance allegedly received IDR 200 million in the case that ensnared Supendi. This was revealed at the trial of defendant Carsa ES in the Bandung Corruption Court.
Carsa's driver, Yahya, said that he was asked to make a logbook on the expenditure of funds from Carsa to a number of people in Indramayu. There written evidence about the flow of funds to Yance in the book.
Supendi is thought to have received a total of IDR 200 million, IDR 100 million in May 2019 and IDR 100 million on Sunday, October 14, 2018. The funds were used for personal use.
The Head of the PUPR (Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing) in Indramayu Regency Omarsyah received hundreds of millions of Indonesian Rupiah and bicycles.
The Head of the Road Department in the Indramayu Regency PUPR Office Wempy Triyono allegedly received IDR 560 million. He received the money in five stages from August to October 2019.
Supendi, Omarsyah, and Wempy as bribe recipients are suspected of violating Article 12 letter a or b or Article 11 and Article 12 B of Law (Law) Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st Criminal Code.
The Carsa contractor was charged with Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or b or Article 13 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption.
