Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will follow up on information related to the whereabouts of Harun Masiku. The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) legislative candidate and KPK fugitive is reportedly already in Indonesia.
"Today it will be discussed," said KPK Deputy Chairman Lili Pintauli Siregar when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday, January 20, 2020.
She made sure the KPK would not release Harun. KPK investigators continue to explore the case and carry out its development.
Lili is optimistic that the evidence obtained is quite strong. She asked the public to be patient and to give time for the KPK to work.
"The case continues to grow from the witnesses' testimony, just wait, the investigation has not ended yet," said Lili.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) uncovered the alleged bribery practice involving elected members of the 2019-2024 DPR. This case dragged the commissioners of the General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan and Harun Masiku.
The KPK also seized IDR 400 million in Singapore dollars during a Sting Operation (OTT) at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten. Previously, Wahyu was suspected of accepting IDR 200 million in bribes.
The Anti-Corruption Agency named four suspects. Wahyu Setiawan and his confidants, as well as a former member of Bawaslu, Agustiani Tio Fridelina, became suspects of receiving bribes.
PDI-P Politician Harun Masiku and an accomplice, Saeful, are the suspected bribers. Saeful is suspected to be a staff member at the Central Board of the PDI-P.
