Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and First Lady Iriana Widodo met with the Yogyakarta royal family at the Yogyakarta Royal Palace in the province on Friday.
"They were received in front of Gedung Jane. They then immediately entered the building," Yogyakarta provincial administration spokesperson Ditya Nanaryo Aji told journalists after the meeting.
The former Jakarta governor left the Yogyakarta Royal Palace at around 11:40 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB). The media savvy politician then observed Friday prayers at Syuhada Mosque in Kotabaru area.
Before visiting Yogyakarta, President Jokowi and his family celebrated Eid day in their hometown Solo, Central Java. Arriving in Solo on Wednesday afternoon, President Jokowi and Ibu Iriana met with the locals at Grha Sabha Buana before heading to their private residence.
Accompanying the President and the First Lady on a flight to Central Java was Minister of State Secretary Pratikno.
