Jakarta: Russia is ready to cooperate with Indonesia in producing and distributing medicine and covid-19 vaccine, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobyova has said.
According to the Russian diplomat, several Indonesian pharmaceutical companies haved expressed their interest to procure Russia's covid-19 vaccine, Sputnik V.
"I want to say that Russia is ready to cooperate with Indonesia," said the Russian Ambassador during a vitual press conference here on Wednesday.
Besides Sputnik V, Russia is currently also developing two more covid-19 vaccines, namely Vektor Vaccine and Epivac.
We hope that the vaccines can be registered by the end of this year," she stated.
On Tuesday, Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force confirmed 3,779 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indnesia to 444,348.
Based on data issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Sunday noon to Monday noon, the government recorded 3,475 recovered patients and 72 confirmed covid-19 deaths.
In addition, as of Tuesday, the goverment has logged 375,741 recovered patients and 14,761 confirmed deaths.
