Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) have identified as many as 34 suspicious village fund recipients. Three of them have been proven to be fictitious villages.
“So far, we have identified 34 villages which we deem problematic, three of which are fictitious.” KPK spokesperson, Febri Diansyah said here on Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
However, Febri admitted that the anti-corruption watchdog does not have the authority over the case. He said that KPK will give the information to the police.
“Will it be developed? I think it will as long as the investigators have found strong evidence which will be really helpful,” said Febri.
Febri said that KPK is committed to preventing village funds from being mismanaged by irresponsible people. He stressted the agency wants the country to become better.
“We will not let these irresponsible people receive the portion of the fund on the basis of villages they falsely claim exist,” said Febri. (Translator: Muhammad Gestinev)
