Jakarta: PKB politician Daniel Johan has encouraged former vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno to join the political party.
"We are ready to welcome him," the PKB politician said here on Friday.
"He is professional, inclusive and progressive," he added.
Before the 2019 presidential election, Sandiaga served as the deputy chairman of Gerindra Party. In order to become Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto's vice presidential candidate, he decided to resign from the party.
Indonesia held its first ever simultaneous general and presidential elections on April 17. Voters elected the president, vice president as well as members of national and local legislative bodies on the same day.
The General Elections Commission (KPU) concluded the vote recapitulation process at the national level on May 21. KPU named incumbent President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin as the winners of this year's presidential race.
According to KPU, Jokowi-Ma'ruf gathered 85,607,362 votes or 55.5 percent of the votes. On the other hand, Prabowo-Sandiaga collected 68,650,239 votes or 45.5 percent of the votes.
Sandiaga recently said that he is ready to enter active politics again. He claimed the he is currently considering offers from a number of political parties.
