Large-Scale Social Restrictions Still in Place: Jokowi

Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has said that the central government will not yeat ease the large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).
"I want to emphasize that PSBB is still in place. People should understand this. We have not eased PSBB" President Jokowi said here on Monday, May 18, 2020.
The former Jakarta governor explained that the central government is currently studying scenarios for easing social distancing measures. He underlined that every decision will be based on the situation in the field.

"We need to be carefull. We must not make a wrong decision. In the next few weeks, the government will still focus on prohibiting the annual Eid exodus," President Jokowi stated.
Last week, President Jokowi ordered relevant cabinet ministers to accelerate the distribution of both direct cash assistance (BLT) and social cash assistance (BST) through procedure simplification.
The central government, he said, has provided social assistance to the people, among others, free electricity for 450 VA customers and a 50 percent fee reduction for 900 VA customers, staple food card for 20 million recipients, Family Hope Program (PKH) for 10 million beneficiaries, village funds direct cash assistance, and social cash assistance.
