Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Friday reported 5,363 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 1,594,722.
From Thursday noon to Friday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 5,975 to 1,444,229.
In the past 24 hours, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 123 to 43,196.
on Thursday, The Covid-19 Handling Task Force through its spokesperson Wiku Adisasmito reminded regional governments to enforce the rules set by the Government in the Circular of Head of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Number 13 of 2021 on the Ban of Homecoming in the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1442 Hijri.
The issuance of the Circular was to prevent further spread of covid-19 due to the potential increase in mobility during the homecoming session.
The Circular is valid from May 6-17.
