Jakarta: The Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) has bagged the name of a new suspect in a suspected corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya (Persero). The figure is one of the top brass in Jiwasraya.
"(The parties involved) BUMN, which means from Jiwasraya," Attorney General ST Burhanuddin told Medcom.id, Jakarta on Friday, January 17, 2020.
Burhanuddin did not explain the details of the individual’s identity and role. He made sure the investigators had strong evidence of their involvement in the corruption scandal at the state-owned company.
Investigators continue to conduct a series of witness examinations in corruption cases in Jiwasraya. They consist of private parties as well as Jiwasraya officials.
The investigation team also searched a number of locations. Especially the residence of those suspected.
Some valuable assets belonging to the suspects, ranging from luxury vehicles to land certificates were confiscated by investigators. There is a strong suspicion that these assets are related to the case.
Attorney General has named five suspects in the suspected corruption case in Jiwasraya. All five were named as suspects based on sufficient evidence.
The five were former Director of Jiwasraya Hendrisman Rahim, former Head of Investment and Finance Division of Jiwasraya Syahmirwan, former Jiwasraya Finance Director Hary Prasetyo, President Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Tbk (TRAM) Heru Hidayat, and Commissioner of PT Hanson International Tbk Benny Tjokrosaputro.
The five are charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) juncto Article 18 paragraph (1) letter b of Law Number 31 Year 1999 Eradication of Corruption Acts as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 juncto Article 55 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code and Article 3 of the Eradication Law Corruption Act in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code.
