Jakarta: A Sriwijaya Air passenger plane went missing on Saturday en route from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, to Pontianak on the island of Borneo.
According to information gathered by Metro TV, the Sriwijaya Air SJY182 flight was carrying 53 people, including five children and one baby.
Taking off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at around 14.30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB), the plane disappeared from radar screens few minutes after takeoff.
