Bandung: Bandung City in West Java Province has recorded no new deaths from the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) in nearly the past month, according to the city's Covid-19 Information Center.
The city's covid-19 death toll remained unchanged at 38, between April 29 and May 27, 2020, the center noted on its official website covid19.bandung.go.id/data. on Thursday.
During that time period, three more people recovered from covid-19, thereby taking the total recovery count to 99.
Cumulatively, the West Java provincial capital reported 302 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection. A total of 165 covid-19 patients are receiving medical treatment or self-isolating.
Based on the data, the number of recoveries is higher than that of deaths.
Overall, those recovering from covid-19 constituted 32.76 percent of the total patients, while 54.56 percent of them are undergoing treatment, and 12.52 percent of them succumbed to the disease.
Secretary of the Bandung government Ema Sumarna affirmed that the city had, so far, witnessed no noteworthy spike in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases. Even so, he admitted to a rise in the covid-19 graph that was not yet flat.
"For instance, the number (of covid-19 positive cases) was recorded at 298 yesterday, and the figure rose to 300 currently. This means the curve is not yet flat," he pointed out. (antara)
