Covid-19 Task Force Records 16,006 Cases, 3,518 Recoveries

Jakarta: The Task Force for Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling today announced 568 new covid-19 cases, bringing the tally to 16,006 cases.
 
"As many as 382 regencies and cities have been affected by the covid-19 pandemic," government spokesperson on matters related to covid-19 Achmad Yurianto said at the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) headquarters in East Jakarta on Thursday, May 14, 2020.
 
From Wednesday noon until Thursday noon, the total number of confirmed recoveries increased by 231 people to 3,518 people. Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed deaths rose by 15 people to 1,043 people.

"The cumulative number of persons under monitoring (ODP) is 258.639 people. Most of them actually have completed the monitoring process. The cumulative number of patients under surveillance (PDP) is 33,672 people. It is also the same. Some of them have completed the examination process," the Ministry of Health's director general of disease control and prevention explained.
 
Previously, Head of BNPB Doni Monardo, as Head of the Coronavirus National Task Force asked all to anticipate the possible second wave of covid-19 pandemic by raising collective awareness to always vigilant and maintain discipline until a vaccine for the virus is found.
 
The pandemic, he added, cannot be handled by the Central Government alone but it requires good cooperation between the Government, academicians, business sector, volunteers, mass organizations, non-governmental organizations, and media.
