Jakarta: Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati does not want the village fund to be received by irresponsible people. Her Ministry will work with relevant institutions and ministries to supervise the management of the fund.
“We are now working with the Home Affairs Ministry and the Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigation
Ministry to identify fictitious villages” Sri Mulyani said here on Thursday, November 14, 2019.
The Finance Ministry has a mechanism to ensure that the fund will not go to the hands of irresponsible people. The Ministry plans to improve the mechanism.
She hopes that the fund will result in the massive improvement of the public welfare. She has asked the regional government to participate in the supervision of the fund.
“It will fund the construction of roads, market buildings, irrigation facilities, and many
more on rural areas," she said.
Previously, Sri Mulyani reveale that the government has found many fictitious villages. She explained that this year's realization of the fund has so far reached 42.2 trillion rupiah.
