Jakarta: Presidential Spokesman Fajdroel Rachman said President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is still studying the names of prospective members of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Supervisory Board.
"The president, along with the State Secretary Minister Pratikno, is currently studying the names that have been proposed," said Fadjroel at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta on Tuesday, November 5, 2019.
According to the presidential spokesman, the president will directly appoint the five members of the supervisory board. The President hopes that the Supervisory Board will truly represent the interests of all parties.
"It is the transition period. The President has the right to determine it,” he explained.
Fadjroel stressed that the KPK Supervisory Board must be committed to eradicating corruption in Indonesia. President Jokowi earlier asked his cabinet memebrs to avoid corrupt practices.
The Supervisory Board will consist of five people. They will be authorized to supervise KPK's activities.
