Jakarta: Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto has approved Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's proposal to implement large-scale social restrictions in Indonesia's capital.
The approval letter will be delivered to the governor today. The governor is the one who will decide the starting date," Ministry of Health spokesperson Busroni told Medcom.id here on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
According to the Ministry of Health official, the decision was based on Government Regulation Number 21 Year 2020 regarding Large Scale Social Restrictions. In addition, the health minister also received inputs from the Covid-19 Task Force and several ministers.
"We gathered inputs from the whole team," Busroni stated.
As of Monday noon, April 6, 2020, the government has recorded 2,492 confirmed covid-19 cases, 192 recoveries and 209 deaths.
