Jakarta: The Jakarta Provincial Government keeps accelerating covid-19 vaccination in Indonesia's capital.
According to local authorities, 7,209,473 people or 81,8 percent of the total population have received the first dose of covid-19 vaccine.
"The number of first dose recipients on Tuesday was 111,471"
Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division of Jakarta Provincial Health Office, Dwi Oktavia, reported in a written statement on Tuesday.
Dwi explained that there are 2,321,531 people or 26.3 percent who have received the second dose of covid-19 vaccine.
She added that as much as 82,655 people received the second dose on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, DKI Jakarta Vice Governor Ahmad Riza Patria (Ariza) is optimistic that the vaccination target is achievable by August 2021.
Around 100 thousand people will be vaccinated daily to reach the target. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
