Jakarta: Indonesia's 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla urged the younger generation to build national unity and tolerance. He said that the younger generation must take action.
“The younger generation should not just think but they must take action,” the former vice president said during a discussion in Jakarta on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.
Kalla said the young generation must promote justice and prosperity for their community. They also must actively eradicate inequality in social life.
He explained that throughout Indonesia’s history there has been 15 major conflicts that have disrupted national unity. The conflicts originated from acts of injustice.
"That almost all conflicts are caused by acts of injustice," said Kalla.
According to Kalla, the younger generation could imitate the United States and other advanced economies in developing innovations.In adition, education experts in this country could emulate other nations, such as China, Japan, and Europe.
