Bandung: Bandung Deputy Mayor Yana Mulyana has revealed that he has fully recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19).
"After I was placed in isolation for several days, my swab test finally produce a negative result," the Bandung deputy mayor said in a statement on Friday, March 27, 2020.
Yana praised health officers who treated him in the past few days. He also appreciated Bandung residents who prayed for his recovery.
"Thanks for all the prayers and supports from my family, friends, colleagues and the public," he stated.
As of Friday, March 27, 2020, the central government's covid-19 task force has recorced 1,047 confirmed cases, 46 recoveries and 87 deaths.
Government spokesperson on the handling of covid-19 outbreak Achmad Yurianto earlier said that one of the effective ways to prevent the spread of covid-19 is by washing hands with soap and flowing water.
According to him, by washing hands with soap and flowing water, one can cleanse all parts of the hands, adding that washing hands with hand sanitizer will only cleanse the palm of the hands and will not reach the back of the hands.
In addition, another important way is by practicing physical distancing.
