More Than 50,000 Health Workers in South Sumatra to Receive Covid-19 Vaccine

Palembang: The South Sumatra Health Agency has said that the provincial government plans to vaccinate 58.840 health workers who combat the covid-19 crisis in the region.
"30 thousand doses of the covid-19 vaccine have arrived today," said South Sumatra Health Agency Head Lesty Nuraini here on Monday.
"It will be given gradually to the public, especially health workers in 17 regencies and cities," the local official added.

The Indonesian Government has secured millons of doses of covid-19 vaccines from Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac Biotech, US-based vaccine manufacturer Novavax, British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.''
In addition, Indonesia also plans to cooperate with the producer of Pfizer-BioNTech covid-19 vaccine from the US and Germany.
The Government also pursued COVID-19 vaccines through multilateral cooperation with GAVI (Global Alliance Vaccines and Immunization) through COVAX which will provide vaccines for free. 
COVAX is initiated by GAVI and is supported by WHO and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
