Jakarta: Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono is confident that the construction of a covid-19 observation facility on Galang Island will complete in the end of March 2020.
"The construction has begun since March 8, 2020. The progress has reached 32 percent," the minister said here on Friday, March 20, 2020.
According to information from the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, the observation facility will use a former refugee camp on Galang Island. It is located around 60 kilometers from Batam city and Hang Nadim Airport. The government has prepared 80 hectares of land for the project.

Divided into three zones, Zone A will consist of supporting buildings, Zone B will consist of observation and supporting areas, while Zone C is empty plots that are prepared for future expansions.
On Thursday, March 19, 2020, the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases in Indonesia increased by 82 cases from 227 cases to 309 cases.
"The total number of recovered patients is 15, while the total number of deaths is 25," Government spokesperson for matters related to covid-19 Achmad Yurianto said during a virtual press conference here on Thurday afternoon.
