Disposal of Explosives Causes Incident in Banjar Regency

Banjarmasin: The disposal of explosive materials damaged houses and buildings in several villages in South Kalimantan province. The operation was carried out by the bomb squad of the South Kalimantan Police on Wednesday, November 28, 2019.
 
“We are currently listing inhabitants, houses, and buildings which were affected by this incident. Fortunately, these buildings and houses only suffered small damage such as broken windows and cracks," South Kalimantan Regional Police Spokesman Senior Commissioner Muhammad Rifai said here on Thursday, November 28, 2019.
 
According to Rifai, the loud explosion was felt as far as thre kilometer radius from the site. As a result, houses and buildings in Guntung Ujung Village, Kayu Bawang Village and Guntung Papuyu Village experienced damage.

School buildings and worship places also experienced impairment. Four cars belonging to Brimob and two minibuses also experienced heavy impairment.
 
“One citizen was reported to faint and several members of the Gegana team were also reported to be wounded and they had to receive medical attention," he said.
 
South Kalimantan police earlier decided to carry out the operation in Tambak Pati Village in Banjar Regency. Rifai said the disposal of explosive materials was based on the National Police Chief Decree Number SI/7122/XI/YAN.2.14/2019.
 
First, the ground explosive materials were put inside a water pool. After that, the ground explosive materials were put inside a hole to be closed with soil thereafter.
