Jakarta: President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo will issue three government regulations (PP) and four presidential regulations (Perpres) regarding the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). This new regulation is derived from Law Number 19 of 2019 concerning the KPK.
The three PPs that will be issued are related to the appointment of the chairman and members of the supervisory board, the results of the search and seizure of corruption, and the transfer of KPK employees to become state civil servants.
Meanwhile, the four Perpres that will be issued are about, the matter of supervision of the eradication of corruption, the salary and allowances of KPK employees, the amount of financial rights and facilities of the KPK supervisory board, as well as the organization and working procedures of KPK leaders and KPK implementing organs.
"For those whose permission has not been issued by the President, a draft discussion cannot be held," said Special Staff for Law Dini Purwono when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
The seven new rules have not yet reached Jokowi's table. The regulation is still under discussion.
Jokowi previously admitted that there are still many rules that must be made and updated to support the performance of the KPK. Jokowi has just issued one regulation, namely Perpres Number 91 of 2019 concerning Implementing Organs of the KPK Supervisory Board.
The Two other presidential regulations concerning governing organizations related to the new law, and the presidential regulation regarding the change in status of KPK employees becoming state civil servants has not yet been issued.
