Jakarta: The Deputy Secretary General of the United Development Party (PPP), Achmad Baidowi, alleged that the protest over the possible appointment of Basuki Thajaja Purnama, better known as Ahok, in the board of directors of PT Pertamina by the labor union is odd
He also alleged that the protest is political. He stated that the union labor must obey the policy initiated by the management
“Unless the management decides to impair the corporate system. If they do not agree with the appointment of a certain person due to allegedly political reasons, then that is wrong," Baidowi said here on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

According to him, it will be dangerous if there is political interest in the SOEs. It will lead to the destruction of SOEs themselves if the political interest is not erased.
“This is a sign of the decline of SOEs. People will question this, he said.
Achmad Badrowi, who is also the member of the Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR), said that the appointment to the board of directors of SOEs is one of the rights of the SOEs Minister, Erick Thohir.
“Technically, the SOEs Minister, is the majority shareholder of all of the SOEs. People who are appointed as the directors of SOEs definitely have fulfilled criteria that the Minister has determined to bring the best. The protest by the labor union is odd," he said.
