Jakarta: The Jakarta provincial government has said that around 60 thousand health workers in the province will receive covid-19 vaccine in the initial stage of the covid-19 vaccination program.
"Around 60 thousand health workers will receive covid-19 in this initial stage," said the Jakarta Health Agency Head Widyastuti here on Tuesday evening.
According to the local government, Indonesia's capital will officially launch its covid-19 vaccination program on January 15.
In addition to health workers, as many as 20 commmunity leaders will also receive covid-19 vaccinations in the initial stage.
"We have receive 120,040 doses of covid-19 vaccine," Widyastuti stated.
The Indonesian government is set to begin covid-19 vaccinations on Wednesday after Sinovac's covid-19 vaccine received emergency use authorization (eua) from the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) early this week.
Last week, the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) declared that the Sinovac covid-19 vaccine is halal.
