Jakarta: The House of Representatives (DPR) will hold a plenary meeting to approve 50 Bills of the 2020 National Legislation Program (Prolegnas). The DPR will also ratify four draft legislation from the previous period.
The four bills are the Criminal Law Bill, the Penal Code Bill, the Stamp Duty Bill and the Mineral and Coal Bill. The House of Representatives will also ratify 3 open cumulative bills which will require the approval of the plenary meeting.
"This includes discussing 3 Omnibus Law Drafts, namely the Employment Creation Bill, the Taxation Bill, and the Bill on the National Capital," said DPR Speaker Puan Maharani in Jakarta on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.
The DPR has not yet received a draft of the Omnibus Law Bill initiative from the government. Parliament is not responsible and does not respond to the draft of the Employment Creation Bill.
"The DPR will discuss the bill according to the existing mechanism. That the Omnibus law bill is included in the list of priority discussions and will certainly be the focus of the work of the Legislative Body," she said.
Puan said the DPR would receive input from all community groups so that the discussion of the Omnibus Law Bill was comprehensive.
