"Ahmad Syaikhu has been appointed to replace Sohibul Iman as PKS President," said the Chairman of Shura Council of PKS Habib Salim Segaf in a written statement on Monday.
Syaikhu's appointment was based on the outcome of the meeting of the Shura Council that took place in Bandung, West Java on October 2-5.

"PKS will continue to join the opposition and supervise the Jokowi-Ma'ruf administration," Syaikhu stated.
Born in Cirebon, West Java on January 23, 1955, Syaikhu previously served as Bekasi Deputy Mayor in 2013-2018 and Member of the West Java Regional Legislative Council in 2009-2013.
Meanwhile, Habib Halim Segaf was re-appointed as the Chairman of the Shura Council and Sohibul Iman was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council.
