Jakarta: Regent of Sumba Tengah Regency in East Nusa Tenggara Province Paulus S. K. Limu has banned his subordinates from leaving the regency as part of precautionary measures adopted to curtail the spread of Covid-19.
"The ban, issued on Monday, will be valid until further notice," he stated on Monday, March 16, 2020.
According to him, all employees of the regency administration, who have secured letters of assignment to travel to rest of Indonesia, must cancel their trips.

Limu also called on the residents of Sumba Tengah Regency to cancel their trips until and unless they were urgent in nature.
The ban is being imposed in the best interests of the community, especially for the residents of Sumba Tengah Regency, the regent stated.
Limu said he will soon hold a meeting with relevant agencies for deliberating on matters, including the infrastructure needed to handle the possibility of a coronavirus outbreak in the district. (Antara)
