Jakarta: Presidential expert staff Ali Mochtar Ngabalin stated that the upcoming cabinet members must consist of people who do not hesitate to take decisions and support government programs.
“They should not be hesitant to support government programs and assist the president," Ngabalin told Primetime News Metro TV on Thursday.
"It is their main duty to support the president,” he added.
He expects that the upcoming ministers are as consistent as the president-elect. He added that the new cabinet members are counted on by the public.
“I hopes that the coalition can propose candidates who are able to work under pressure,” he remarked.
He claimed that he does not know the names of the upcoming ministers. He reiterated that the cabinet formation is the president's prerogative.
President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo earlier revealed that he has determined the formation of the upcoming cabinet. He said that the new cabinet can be announced in the near future.
According to President Jokowi, around 55 percent of ministerial positions will be filled by professionals. On the other hand, the remaining ministerial positions will be filled by politicians from coalition party members.
President Jokowi plans to establish a number of new ministries and merge several existing ministries. The government currently has 34 ministries. (Translator: Muhammad Gestinev)
