Jakarta: Indonesia's Covid-19 Handling Task Force on Wednesday reported 11,948 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Indonesia to 1,024,298.
From Tuesday noon until Wednesday noon, the total number of recovered coronavirus patients in the country increased by 10,974 to 831,330.
Within the same period, Indonesia's official covid-19 death toll was up by 387 to 28,855.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received his second shot of the Sinovac covid-19 vaccine earlier today, as part of an effort to reassure Indonesian people of the safety of the covid-19 vaccine.
For the record, the CoronaVac vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac Biotech requires two injections of 0.5 milliliters each with an interval of 14 days.
Previously, the President received the first injection on January 13.
