Jakarta: The Presidential Palace revealed that South Minahasa Regent Christiany "Tetty" Paruntu is not a minister candidate. The Presidential Secretariat's Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media Bey Machmudin explained that the Golkar Party politician did not meet with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.
"She did not meet with the president. So she is not a minister candidate," the official told reporters here on Monday, October 21, 2019.
Previously, the South Minahasa leader came to the Presidential Palace this morning. Wearing a white shirt and black pants, the Functional Groups (Golkar) Party politician was alleged to meet with President Jokowi.
However, Golkar Party chairman Airlangga did not answer firmly whether Tetty is one of the ministerial candidates from the Golkar Party. He asked the public to wait patiently for the announcement of the new cabinet line-up.
"Maybe she (did not meet) with the president," Airlangga said.
