Jakarta: President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo handed over 3,200 land certificates during his visit to Gresik regency on Thursday.
"It has been promised by the minister. All of the land in Gresik will be certified by 2024," President Jokowi told Gresik residents at the event.
"Nationally, 80 million hectares of land are yet to be certified. Meaning, you are very lucky," President Jokowi noted.
President Jokowi, accompanied by First Lady Iriana, paid a one-day working visit to East Java province today.
Using the Indonesian-1 Presidential Aircraft, President Jokowi and his entourage departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta to Juanda International Airport in Sidoarjo at 07.45 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
Before attending the certificate handover ceremony, President Jokowi will attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of K.H Miftachul Akhyar Abdul Ghoni, a leader of the largest Islamic organization in Indonesia Nahdlatul Ulama with son of K.H. Ali Ridhom in Surabaya.
From Gresik, President Jokowi and his entourage will return to Jakarta today.
Besides First Lady Iriana, President Jokowi was also accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Pratikno and Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil.
